A Church with a Heart for our Community

May 29th Wednesday

Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Another great morning in the Kingdom, another morning to “rise and shine and give God the glory”, another morning to seek God’s presence, another morning to tune our ears to hear His voice, and another morning to thank God for life. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to create divine interludes in your day that will give you opportunity to share your faith, express love, and to laugh.

As I work my way through this “waiting season”…Pentecost Sunday is coming!…God seems to be revealing his Presence n rather unique ways. Yes, I know that Holy Spirit is active and present today and I don’t have to ‘wait’ for a special Sunday…but I am waiting for that Sunday when we are gathered with expectation and, hopefully, preparation. I have been listening to a new song…surprise, I think… for Pentecost Sunday. It is called: Fire’s Gonna Fall” and it is by Martin Smith. Some of the words go like this: We’re an ordinary choir-With a supernatural song-We’ve got holy tongues of fire-Singing “let your kingdom come”…And the joy in our hearts will explode like fireworks-And the colors of God they will light up the sky-As we fall to our knees crying holy is the Lord-Come now, Holy Ghost.

I have been reading of moments when Holy Spirit makes his presence known. Sometimes, it seems, He comes with laughter and exuberant joy and sometimes with gold dust on people’s faces, hands or clothing. Sometimes it is with oil  that simply appears on hands. Sometimes with wind blowing through a room. Sometimes with a cloud hovering over a sanctuary. Sometimes with a beautiful, haunting fragrance filling the room. Sometimes with feathers falling during worship times. Sometimes with tears and moments of surrender and repentance. The important thing is that people don’t get caught up in the manifestations but in Holy Spirit’s presence. I have learning that the important prayer right now is not stating to God that we are ready for ‘anything’ but to ask for ‘one thing’ — We want the Holy Spirit to fall down on us…We want the Holy Spirit to fall down on us!

Yes we are an ordinary  choir of men and women who simply want the Holy Spirit’ presence.  Is that you? – i pray that it is!  –  Be blessed!
