A Church with a Heart for our Community

September 18th Friday

Greetings to you – made in the image of God – in the powerful name of Jesus Christ –THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful morning in the Kingdom and what a way to start the last weekend of summer 2020! I trust that you have enjoyed a good week with good health, renewed energy, and divine appointments. Are you thinking about the new season that is ahead of us? I know that there will be challenges and changes to our routine(s), but God has always been there enabling us to adapt. Today I will be praying for you, asking the Father who never changes to release everything you need – peace, grace, hope, courage, joy – to make the changes that are necessary for you.

Tonight at sundown the celebration of the Jewish new year begins with the blowing of the shofar…and it seems only right that a ‘new year’ should begin at the end of a season. Interesting it is that we are in a new moon season at this time for the Bible says…Also at your times of rejoicing-your appointed festivals and New Moon feasts-you are to sound the trumpets over your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, and they will be a memorial for you before your God. I am the LORD your God. – Numbers 10:10. So tonight at the head of the year…a new month on the Jewish calendar begins with a new moon and the sound of trumpets – proclaiming that “He is the LORD our God.”

In spite of all that is going on in our world, in our city, and in our lives…blow the trumpet, bring your sacrifice of praise, bow before Him and declare that He is God and there is no other. What a way to celebrate!…we have been made in the image of God–fearfully and wonderfully made and we carry the fingerprints of God and the DNA of Jesus Christ flows from His sacrifice over us and through our veins.

So celebrate Rosh Ha Shanah…eat some honey cake, brisket, roast chicken, matzo ball soup, and latkes ; give God your sacrifice of praise ; forgive those in your life that need it ; laugh and pray and hope!

Have a blessed weekend!
