Greetings to you in the beautiful, powerful, and wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Another beautiful Spring morning and another opportunity to rejoice in God’s creative touch and be glad in His constant attention to details! This morning I am amazed at how much is happening in our world at a time when we are in a time of “sheltering-in” – life keeps coming at us in a myriad of ways. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to quiet you with His gentle and calming presence as He sings over you…let Him encourage you and – quench the thirst and feed the hunger of your soul.
It is a little amazing how we need to understand and know things There is hardly a subject that we can “google” to find information or directions or history about. We can go on social media to see what a friend had for breakfast…and how to make it. We can find so many ‘entries’ about something that if we looked up each one…well there goes the next 100 years.
However there is one area that stymies us…what is God doing with my life and in my life and why is He doing it and why now and how is the beneficial to me? It seems that there are certain things about life that contrary to our thinking…we don’t need to know or understand – just experience. One of life’s greatest lessons is learning to be content with not understanding everything. I am sure by now that you have discovered, as I have, that many of God’s greatest miracles happen within us without our knowing or understanding. Someone has said that Christ conquers our souls when we run out of answers.
I think of that painting by Holman Hunt of Christ knocking at the door which we understand is our heart’s door with the handle on the inside. It seems that there are times when we stand with Christ on the outside wondering what is behind the door. We suggest to the Christ that if He would open the door we could see what is there. You, of course, know that only you can open the door…you have to stop standing on the outside with Christ and get inside so that you can invite Him is…give Him access, You have to stand in the midst of what is unknown and let Him unravel the answers. When we do that…oh the mysteries that begin to be revealed and oddly enough…I know you have said it many times – “Oh! I see, I understand!”
My point is, that right now there is so much happening in our world, so many events, so much unrest, so many questions, so much that seems to lack common sense and decency, so much despair, so much that is beyond our understanding…we are in the wilderness. This I do know … God is still on the throne, Christ is still the answer to my every need, and Holy Spirit releases the powerful presence of God within my being. What I do know counterbalances everything that I don’t know !
Something to think about … have a blessed day!
