A Church with a Heart for our Community

June 4th Thursday

Greetings to you in the name…the beautiful name, the wonderful name, the powerful name…of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Wow! what a beautiful morning in the Kingdom…let’s sing – Our God is an awesome God-He reigns from heaven above-With wisdom, power and love-Our God is an awesome God! … This is the day that the Lord has made-I wil rejoice and be glad in it! …you sounded goood, real good! Oh, go ahead…once more! Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to respond to your praise with a manifestation of His holy presence – filling you, encouraging you, empowering you and blessing you.

I want to make a quick comment or two about being in the “wilderness”…you know, the place where you don’t want to be. It is in the wilderness that we nurture a hunger and thirst for a move of God. At the end of the daily email I am going to give you a link for a new song that highlights this. Secondly, based on my understanding of Moses’ experience…”wilderness” is where miracles happen – glory waits and hides, clouds of fire, burning bushes, God’s tabernacle, water out of rocks, daily nourishment. It seems that in the “wilderness” there are miracles in the making that reveal our destiny, our purpose, and our greatest satisfaction.

As I have been making my house-calls…by way of the telephone, God has truly blessed me. I have become aware of a truth that is so important to the life and vitality of our congregation…any congregation. The truth is…staying connected is an absolute necessity on a three-fold level. It is interesting to me that God remind me of this as we approach–“Trinity Sunday.” First, we obviously need to stay connected to God. I am encouraged that so many are spending extra time in prayer and reading the Word. Second, we need to stay connected to each other. Again, I am encouraged when I hear how you are looking after each other with telephone calls and cards and ‘social-distant’ visits. Third, we need to stay connected to ourselves. Obviously we are spending a lot of time on our own and we are learning to love ourselves afresh and rediscover that unique person God created.

On Pentecost weekend there was an “on-line” prayer gathering with many prayer-ers from across Canada involved. During the gathering God directed their thoughts and focused their attention on a new wave of intercession. God would have us become more intentional about praying for the “lost” around us. There has been a season of prophetic praying, then intimate praying, and now for the lost. Before we go and tell people about what God can do through Jesus Christ we need to tell God about family members and friends and people we come into contact with…we need to pray specifically.

Just some things to think about – have a blessed day!
