Greetings to you in the beautiful and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Ah! a lovely winter’s morning…isn’t God good at creating days for us to enjoy, to thank Him for…after we have grumbled about – just a little bit? This morning I am extra grateful to live in the country of Canada…and in this particular corner of it! Today I will be lifting you up in prayer, asking Father to release health and strength and a happy heart to you…and may you experience the SoS 2:6 blessing!
Over the past few days I have been asking God some questions, and they usually start with “why?” … and most of the time He simply quiets my thoughts and lets me discover new insights. Occasionally He lets the answer slowly unfold in a way that garners even more questions. So, over the past few days I have come across a recurring phrase-challenge-direction-question: ‘Behold I am doing a new thing’ … what new thing are you going to do … behold, why don’t you do something new … what new thing, new direction, new idea are you entertaining? Now the easiest response is to simply ask…what do you want me to do…what do I need to do – and then wait for Him to tell me, but it isn’t working for me at this time.
So this morning, after several days in this position I decided to let my heart tell me what to do. My heart is telling me to do something that I thought I was doing but God seems to be in agreement – so…I am being directed to – “seek His face” ! I am thinking that I need to be more intentional, more submissive, more committed to that direction. However I think that I am only at stage one – identifying my direction. I have a sense that there is more to come…and He wants other to join me – after all it does say…”If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and seek my face…” 2 Chronicles 7:14.
So let me ask you…”do you – will you seek His face in the days that are ahead of us?” I believe that as we do we will find an experience – an encounter with Him that we never expected but will be glad to accept. There is a word for the discoveries that one make’s along the way to a destination …serendipity! I have an idea…why not journal our serendipities so that we can remember and share with others. Remember…to truly see God’s face is to be changed by Him and to become more like Him.
Something to think about today — have a blessed day!
