A Church with a Heart for our Community

January 7th Tuesday

Happy New Year! I greet you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful early winter’s morning – sunshine, blue skies, and cool temperatures! I am grateful that the roads are clear and we are able to travel with little difficulty. I trust that you had a blessed Christmas and New Year’s with family and friends…and that you enjoyed good health and positive family gatherings and intimate moments with Jesus. I pray that you are excited about the gift of a ‘new year’ with 366 days to discover God’s goodness. Today, as I pray for you, I will ask Father to stir a desire for an “epiphany” within you soul and that His presence would encourage you.

Yesterday was our first Monday prayer gathering of our 14th year of interceding for our community and for special concerns and for the people in our circle of family, friends, and those we interact with. I sense in my spirit that God wants to draw our attention to “rediscovering the power of the Holy Spirit” and “removing our spiritual cataracts so that we may see Jesus afresh” … open our eyes Lord – we need to see Jesus! I believe that 2020 is going to be a significant year for the church in Canada and for our community.

Of course, we have already had our first Sunday of 2020 and God was so good in affirming the spiritual authority that He has given to those who will follow hard after Him. I believe that for our little congregation that this is going to be a year of adventure and surprises and divine manifestation…after all it is our 25th anniversary! I am wondering what God has up His sleeve for the congregational family…and when we will see the first evidences of ‘breakthrough’ and ‘break out’. Whatever, this I know – we need to be bold in our faith, for as the saying goes – ‘without God we cannot and without us God will not’. Everone needs to report for duty!

Just a few things to ponder – have a great day!
