A Church with a Heart for our Community

2018 January 16th Tuesday

Yesterday we gathered for our weekly prayer gathering for our city and county, and doing so we stepped into our 11th year of interceding for the needs and concerns that affect the lives of those who call this ‘community’ home. We also pray for issues that affect our province, country and world, but our main focus is local. We thank God for the many answers to prayer that we know of and in faith we thank God for the answers we have not seen. Yes, there are prayers that have not been answered…yet, so we keep praying with expectation. As someone has said: the only prayer that God does not respond to is the one that isn’t prayed.

One of the themes for the year ahead is “restoration” – of families and marriages, of individual lives with purpose and potential, of a healthy faith community that exudes unity, of the economic well-being, and of the sound leadership of elected officials.

It seems as we consider the word – ‘restoration’ – there is a definition that resonates in very personal ways to individuals. One person thinks of ‘reconciliation’, while another thinks of ‘return’, and yet another thinks of ‘repair’. For me, I think of ‘restocking’ the shelves that nave been depleted over the last season. However we define – restoration, I have a sense that in our heart we know that something is broken, something is out of control, something is simply not right in our lives, our families, and our community.

Please join our prayer group and pray for – restoration!
