A Church with a Heart for our Community

2018 January 10th Wednesday

Greetings to you in this name of the Master Designer of all things bright and beautiful, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful morning in the Kingdom – blue skies, sunshine, early morning ‘frost’ on the trees and bushes, and sparkles sitting in the snow. I trust that 2018 has gotten off to a good start for you and yours. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to allow you to experience His ‘wrap-around’ presence in ways that will take your breath away.

I start this year as I do every new season in my life evaluating what I am doing – does something need to be stopped?, does something need to be started?, or does something need to be fine tuned a little? With those questions playing ‘hide and seek’ in my thoughts, I wait for God to speak. He usually uses written word, sometimes music, and if He really wants me to ‘get the message’…it is through a person. I don’t go looking – I simply wait on Him…and He has never failed to communicate the next steps in my life.

So, first of all, He sent me the words of a man’s testimony as it relates to writing…”I’m called to write. When I sit down at my computer, I take off my shoes because I am on holy ground. And I don’t just type with the keyboard; I worship God with the twenty-six letters of the English alphabet…” Mark Batterson, ‘Whisper’. So, I sense that God is telling me to keep writing blogs and emails, and sermons.

Next, God sent instructions and insights about the area of prayer…“our prayers can go where we cannot go…there are no borders, no prison walls, no doors that are closed to us when we pray.”  Brother Andrew – “The Church is in a war and prayer is our powerful weapon…The sounds of prayer will cause confusion in the enemy camp and they will fall into their own traps.”  Germaine Copeland. So, I believe God is telling me not to give up on facilitating prayer gatherings.

Now in case I forget who I am and how I need to nurture my faith-life, God sent three quotes: [1]”When our Lord and Master Jesus Christ said “Repent” He willed that the entire life of the believer be one of repentance.” Martin Luther … the initial act of repentance is one’s surrender to Jesus Christ. – Selwyn Hughes – {2}”A definition of grace….: ‘Grace is the strength God gives to obey His commands’ – it is the impartation of power.” – Selwyn Hughes – [3]”Every day we live is a priceless gift of God, loaded with possibilities to learn something new, to gain fresh insights.”  – Dale Evans Rogers.

I am going to pray…after all He told me to…for you today – may God speak into your heart and mind and spirit in ways that you will be able to know God’s purpose for your life as we begin 2018…what you may need to stop, what you may need to start, and what you may need to ‘fine tune’ a little.

Have a good day…be blessed!
