A Church with a Heart for our Community

October 29th Thursday

Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a delightful autumn morning in the Kingdom, and I trust that you are enjoying the thoughts of what this day may hold for you. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release the ‘aroma’ of his Presence to waft around you and let the glow of his Glory highlight your day.

This week a Christian lady told me, very simply: “You know what? I am growing in my faith and understanding of God!” Now that is the kind of comment, as a pastor, that truly encourages you. I thought of that declaration as I turned to the scripture and found myself reading these words: “…choose today who you will serve…” Joshua 24:15 NLT. I believe the reason a Christian grows or not depends upon the answer to that question of authority in their lives…and it is really challenging.

The growth points in our Christian journey, I believe, involve a ‘crisis’ and a ‘process’…the crisis of making a decision in your mind and then the process of living out that decision obediently without complaint or murmuring in the daily routine of life. As much as we are aware of these truths, they still catch us off-guard. I am sure that at this very moment, if you will simply pause and ponder, you will recall a few of those destiny-defining moments when your decision to submit to God took you to new levels of anointing, calling, and purpose. Most of the decisions were difficult and maybe even were reluctant…but what a difference they made.

Can you remember the delight and wonder of knowing that you were growing, that you were gaining a new level of maturity, that what once was holding you back is now propelling you forward, and that you have realized a new level of intimacy with God? I suppose these are the moments when you are being transformed…So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord-who is the Spirit-makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.  2 Corinthians 3:18 NLT.

Something to think about…be blessed!
