A Church with a Heart for our Community

October 27th Tuesday

Greetings in the name above all names, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! I trust that you had a grand weekend, enjoying all the blessings of the season, time with family, and the strengthening of corporate worship. We were blessed at our worship gathering as God’s presence created divine moments and encounters…as of last night there were four specific answers to prayer — God is so good, all the time and every time! Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to “stir up the gift of his Spirit that He placed within you.”

There seems to have been some spiritual warfare going on as the enemy was encouraging discontent, doubts, and despair. I think he even had us questioning God’s plans and purposes. As I was trying to journey through this and getting side-tracked, God sent me a message through a devotion…in times like this what you need is a good dose of this Scripture: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God: and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6,7. — He (God) is still the Creator, blessed forever. (Romans 1:25) — He is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) — His years will never end. (Psalm 102:27) — He does what He pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him, “What have you done?” (Daniel 4:35). This I know – God is still God and His word is still sure…His sovereign grace never changes…everything else may change…but He doesn’t.

There is a song we sing that has these words for the chorus:  And He never sleeps, He never slumbers-He never tires of hearing our prayer-When we are weak, He becomes stronger-So trust in His love and cast all of your cares on Him. (Don Moen/Claire Clonninger). Today as you ponder the events of the last week or so – election results, the Blue Jays, health issues, family concerns, financial struggles, employment situations….whatever, remember…Be anxious for nothing–take everything to God in prayer–let the peace of God overwhelm your heart and mind…sing the chorus-make up your own tune if you don’t remember it from church. You will be planting seeds for a harvest later on.

Be blessed!
