Greetings to you in the name of God’s answers to all our questions, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a ‘damp’ fine morning in the Kingdom…and what a morning to affirm that – Yes! this, too, is the day that the Lord has made and we will be glad in it! I trust that you had a good weekend with lots of remembrances to carry with you into this new week. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to do one of his miracles of healing and restoration in your life…may He touch your body, your mind, your emotions, and your soul.
This morning I have heard how God is touching lives in different places of our world. It is exciting to hear of thousands coming to faith, hundreds being healed, and of powerful miracles occurring — however, I am absolutely convinced that those facts and figures are the exception. I believe, as many others do, ‘that most of the evidence of what God is doing goes largely unnoticed and unrecorded’ – (Brian Houston). As such, I am thanking God for the privilege of ‘seeing’ him at work in my city. Every day in my city God is touching lives through the personal, one-on-one ministry of ordinary Christians and unique Christian ministries – teenagers are being mentored and counselled, the hungry are being fed, the lonely are sharing a cup of coffee and a sandwich, addicts are being set free, the shut-ins are being visited, and individuals are praying with effect.
I read that Walt Disney struggled in the lower grades of school and almost ‘failed’ because he wouldn’t colour within the lines, I guess God would fail Grade one because He has never liked to ‘colour’ within the lines…He has always liked to operate ‘outside of the box’ and promotes a life of faith among his children that isn’t a ‘paint-by-numbers exercise. A Christ-follower, I believe, will always do things a little different – using colours, mixed media, embellishments, materials-at-hand, and models to create ministry ideas that impact individuals in strange ways. Why? The believer sees what is around them with God’s eyes. I have read that Christians are supposed to be the most creative and innovative people in the crowd. So it only stands to reason that God’s work in our community is done in the most unique and subtle ways that bring unnoticed and unrecorded results.
As God requires, walking by faith or with faith means living day by day and step by step. How creative and innovative can we be in our service for God?
Have a great day – be blessed!
