A Church with a Heart for our Community

July 18th Wednesday

Good Morning to you…and greetings in the name of the One who expressed His love to us before we even knew what He was doing, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Another delightful summer morning is ours to enjoy and to give thanks for. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to quiet you in His love and to bring healing to you … body, mind, spirit … , and to be the lifter of your head.

I have been reminded several times over the last week or so about the importance of preaching God’s Word. It started with a devotional about the revival of a nation under Nehemiah. Yes, he followed God’s leading and rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem…but the people urged him to preach God’s Word and as a result a nationwide revival took place. It was God Himself  who spoke to Jeremiah …“…but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully…is not my word like fire, … and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?”  Jeremiah 23:28-29.

Then I received an email prayer…I Hear His Whisper, and it included an assortment of admonitions to – walk upon the water of My Word…trust in my promises…My Word  is your strength…My Word is more tangible and real than anything else…My Word of power…living by faith in My Word…Speak My promises over your life…Read the Words I have promised…Place your hands upon My Word.

This wouldn’t be complete without telling you that a few choruses and songs popped into my mind…I believe in the Word of God — the B-I-B-L-E — Every promise in the Book is mine, every chapter, every verse, every line — Your Word is like honey on my lips — and a few others as well.

I guess God was trying to remind me about how important His Word has been and is to my journey. Perhaps He is trying to get my attention to prepare me for a new assignment…He did say – For I know the plans I have for you..!  Jeremiah 29:11 and – My Word is lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path!  Psalm 119:105.

What is God saying to you – at this moment – about your relationship with His Word? May God speak to your heart today and bless you!
