A Church with a Heart for our Community

January 23rd Friday

Greetings in the name of”Yahweh-sabaoth” (Lord of Hosts – commander of heaven’s army) and Jesus Christ – THE Crucified and Risen Saviour! Another quiet morning in the Kingdom – no snow or rain or gusts of wind or polar vortex! I trust that you have had a grand week and are looking forward to a weekend of great blessing…especially when you gather with your Christian family to celebrate! I will be praying for you today, asking Father to surprise you with miracles of healing – reconciliation – restoration.

I have been sharing some of the prophetic messages that are being released to the Christian church…also, I have been reporting statistics about the health of the Christian church in North America. The problem with this is that the perspectives are so opposing that I have been challenged. So, let me explain – if I can.

When you deal with reality through statistical analysis – overall church attendance at 20%, 4000 churches closing in 2015, pastors and ministry leaders leaving their positions in frustration and disillusionment, and 2.7 million members who are not active beyond church attendance – the health of the church seems frail. There is a growing community of individuals who have left the “church” – although not their beliefs, and they are called “church refugees” or “disengaged Christians.”

However, there is a number of prophetic voices declaring that this year is to be a “harvest-year” for the Christian church with many of the ‘refugees’ returning to the church, ready to try one more time. It seems being a ‘refugee’ or ‘disengaged’ is not what people want. The voice of the “prophet” does not deal with statistical reality but rather speaks about something that has not come into being as yet.

So, I choose to balance the two view points. Yes, the institution called “the church” is failing but the “assembly of called-out ones” – the “ecclesia” – the people of the church are growing restless – ready to be released and refreshed and refocused…REVIVED! I choose to believe that there is a ‘harvest of people’ returning to assemble at their point of origin.- their spiritual home. I have given seven years of gathering with fellow-believers on a weekly basis to pray for – cry out to God for this ‘harvest’ to take place. I believe it is on its way!

Be blessed…enjoy the weekend!
