A Church with a Heart for our Community

August 7th Tuesday

Greetings to you in the name of the One who invites you to follow Him on a daily basis, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Another one of those days when the sun is shining from behind the clouds, but it is the day that He has planned for us. I trust that you had a good weekend and Monday with many blessings and reasons to give thanks. I will be praying for you today, asking Father to allow you to experience the delight He has in you!

Last night we went to the movies and were delighted not only to be entertained but to reminded of some very important life lessons…and they came from the words of a bear with a little brain. Yes, that is right…lessons from Winnie the Pooh in the movie, Christopher Robin. Let me share a couple of quotes that were quite insightful. First, “I always get to where I’m going by walking away from where I’ve been.”  Interestingly enough, Jesus suggested that if we want to get somewhere in life we would have to leave the past behind and follow Him.

Another quote, “doing nothing often leads the way to the best kind of something”  and again the Bible teaches us that our Shepherd will lead us to green pastures to rest and do nothing but have our soul restored. Then, Pooh asks, “What day is this?” … “It’s today, says Christopher Robin. “Oh good,” says Pooh, “that’s my favourite day!” and God’s Word says, “This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice…” to which Pooh might say, “Always time for a smackeral of wonder!:

I know, I know…I have an overactive mind…at times, but I have fun and God always likes to surprise with truths and lessons tucked away in the most unlikely places. I close witha Pooh-insight, “People say ‘nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.”

Have a blessed day!
