Greetings to you in the name of the one who is the same…yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful summer morning in the Kingdom! The beginning of a day is so important, be it ewtaher outside your home or peace inside your home or hope within your spirit…no wonder Scripture and music and personal experiences focus on the morning hours. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to bend His ear to hear your “morning songs of praise” and then to release His strength.
It is interesting to me how a “something” that happens early in your week can chase you through the rest of the week. It may be part of a dialogue in a movie or television program or the lyrics to a song or comments shared in a conversation or simply idle words shared at a specific moment. You heard it first on a Monday and then every day it seems to ‘come at you from a different direction or in a different form…or so it seems to be with me.
This morning I am listening to a song from a new ‘cd’ that I downloaded last week…and I have already heard it six or eight times, but today the song highlights a series of ‘somethings’ that has been chasing me all week, or at least since I watched the “Christopher Robin” movie.
The song is entitled, “I Can’t Stay Here” and it is performed by David & Nicole Binion. Let me share some of the words: I can’t stay here, asleep to how You’re moving-I can’t stay here, complacent anymore-I can’t stay here, my heart is full of longing-I can’t stay here, I know what I am made for … And I can’t stay here, I’ve awakened to Your whisper-I can’t stay here,You tell me there is more-I can’t stay here, my heart beats like the thunder-I can’t stay here, oh. I’m running for the door … and the chorus says: You’re breathing new life into dry bones-I hear the echo, the sound of heaven’s song-Your Spirit’s calling me, I know it’s time to go-I can’t stay here anymore.
I have a sense that there is a growing hunger and thirst inside God’s people. They know that there is something more available in their spiritual adventure and that is being offered to them. In the above song there is a “bridge’ verse that needs to be accepted and sung with an attitude of surrender. The words simply say: I’m ready for deeper, I’m ready for furious flood-I’m ready for glory I’m ready for Kingdom come – We want more, ’cause You’ve got more-So we want more, ’cause You’ve got more.
Do me a favour – put aside all your inhibitions and doubts and fears…now read the words of the song. Is there something stirring inside of you?
Have a blessed day!
