Greetings to you…beloved and highly favored child of God, in the beautiful-wonderful-powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a lovely August morning in the Kingdom. I trust that you are enjoying this new month and have experienced God’s presence in tangible ways. Today I will be praying for you and your family, asking Father to bless you with opportunities to gather and enjoy each other…may He release health, strength, and happiness in your hearts…may He bring “shalom-peace” to each one…may He guide your steps.
This morning in my devotions, God reminded me that in this ever-changing world…He has not. is not, and will not change. Yes, His methods and ways may change but He, himself, will always be who He is. I am so grateful that in the midst of the uncertainty and unpredictability of life in this world that He can be depended on. Each morning I commit myself to the power of His Word and the promises I find there because of a declaration – all the promises that God has made are “Yes! and Amen! in Jesus Christ – 2 Corinthians 1:20, and further to that – I make this solemn oath to you in my own name; this word sent from my mouth in righteousness will not return unfulfilled…Isaiah 45:23 TPT.
It seems that God’s Word is the one sure thing that we can depend on as we face these strange days. I am reminded of an old hymn…of course, I am...How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,-Is laid for your faith in his excellent word!-What more can he say than to you he hath said-To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled…Fear not. I am with thee. O be not dismayed-For I am thy God, I will still give thee aid!-I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand-Upheld by my gracious, omnipotent hand.
I have a confession to make…in light of the words of Jesus – if you have ears, please listen! I get distracted: by all that is taking place around me in this world, by the cares and concerns of life, by the onslaught of evil that is all around us, by the desire to figure things out on my own, and by the weariness of life. I have found that when I open His Word…grace, mercy, and truth flow forth. I know that He is always speaking to us, reassuring us of His presence, but I don’t always hear. God’s Word makes this promise: There’s a private place reserved for the devoted lovers of Yahweh, where they sit near him and receive the revelation secrets of his promises. Psalm 25:14 TPT. This I know and believe…He has made me and He knows how to speak to me – and He will!
