A Church with a Heart for our Community

April 14th Thursday

“May God Himself, the Heavenly Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, release grace over you and impart total well-being into your lives!” – Ephesians 1:2 TPT.  Greetings in the name of THE Risen Saviour! Wow! what a great morning with beautiful sunshine…it is amazing how God creates beautiful days to encourage us. This morning in the newspaper, Garfield appeared with a inspirational truth. It starts with him saying…”Sometimes when you’re down in the dumps – I mean way down in the dumps – You find a cookie!” Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to send you a “cookie”…I mean a “blessing” – that will make you smile and bring encouragement.

This morning I am listening to a new CD by a group called – The Taylors – and two extras. I know that you are not aware of this but God likes to speak to me through music, so it isn’t surprising that He whispered some words of instruction and challenge and reminders to me. First, I was reminded that He didn’t fail Jonah, so “He Won’t Fail You”. In fact, when I am trying to sort out my questions and doubts, He challenges me to accept that He is there – “For What I Don’t Know”. Now I know that these are pretty basic insights but one of God’s favourite words is “remember” and I like to sing an old song that says…”Tell me the old, old story – for I forget so soon (and often)”.

For those times when I am feeling isolated and far away from God, there are songs that say that God came – “Far Enough” to meet me and walk with me – “Between Here and Heaven”. Then, for when there are cares and concerns to pray about and I wonder if I am bothering God, there is a song that says – “That’s What the Cross Is For”. One of the upbeat songs is an encouraging one that says – “Better” – tomorrow things-life-people are going to be better.

God is rather creative in how He communicates with individuals and many times when I am praying for people I ask God to speak to them in ways that they can understand and respond to. I want to encourage to accept and appreciate the methodology that God uses to “speak” to you. In fact, God sent me a prayer that fits: God, I never want to treat what You say to me and show me flippantly. Help me to recognize Your voice and listen well when You speak to me. I don’t want to miss what You are saying, and I especially don’t want to forget what You have said. Give me practical strategies for stewarding what You show me and help me to freely give as I have freely received. – Bill Johnson, Hosting His Presence Every Day.

Be blessed…enjoy the day!
