A Church with a Heart for our Community

April 20th Wednesday

Everyone everywhere, lift up your joyful shout to God! Sing your songs tuned to His glory! Tell the world how wonderful He is! Awe-inspiring God, great and glorious in power! We’ve never seen anything like Him! – Psalm 66:1-3a  TPT. Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful morning that the Creator has designed for us. I trust that you enjoyed a grand weekend and Monday-Tuesday. This morning I will be praying for you, asking Father to make His presence known to you to encourage you and affirm you.

I was blessed to be in a worship gathering recently where the presence of God was moving in supernatural ways. It was a humbling moment as God touched individual lives and imparted his gentle power. I am wondering how many are nurturing what God did, allowing the transformation to continue. I am wondering how many are simply looking back at that experience, remembering what happened at that moment.

I am aware that in every divine transaction – when God supernaturally intervenes-interferes with what is happening – we have a crucial part to play. It is God’s part to initiate and supply His touch, but it is our part to nurture and keep alive the power of the moment. In his book – Hosting the Presence of God Everyday, Bill Johnson states a principle that I very much agree with: Every touch of God contains seeds of transformation. God touches; man decides whether or not he wants a touch or a transformation. So, again, I wonder how many people are remembering the touch and how many are experiencing the transformation?

As I ponder – I am listening to a new song: I want the world to see – Jesus lives in me … the Taylors and I take my pondering a little deeper. Does my family, my church family and my friends notice whether the “touch of God” I experienced is a memory of what happened or an expression of what is happening? Do I sing – “I was in His hands” or “I am in His hands”? I must admit that it is too easy to live off what took place at a moment in time. It takes some effort to keep a past experience-revelation-manifestation alive and current.

It says in the Bible: The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it. The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out. – Leviticus 6:12-13. When God does something in our lives, when His presence is real and fresh, when He touches us – we must keep it “burning and not let the fire go out”. We need to feed the fire – the experience – each morning with the firewood of parise and worship and prayer and testimony.

Something to think about – be blessed!
