A Church with a Heart for our Community

March 26th Thursday

Greetings to you in the powerful, beautiful, and wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Let us rejoice and be glad in this new day that God has given to us…I think this is positive way to remind ourselves that we must not take our days for granted. I trust that all is well in your world today and that you and your loved ones are healthy. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father tobless you with all that you need to meet the challenges of the day and with opprotunities to bless someone else’s life.

One of the phrases I keep hearing is how we are living in a time of “unprecedented changes”…and that is so true. In the Bible we read these words: “...Make sure you keep a proper distance between you and it (the ark of the covenant), about half a mile–be sure now to keep your distance!–and you’ll see clearly the route to take. You’ve never been on this road before.” – Joshua 3:4  The Message. How’s that for ‘social-distancing’ in a time of unprecedented changes?

Yet, in these unprecedented times there is a need to remind ourselves of a few fundamental truths as it seems that in crisis times we can forget. First, not everything we hear is true and God says to us…the prudent man always acts out of knowledge – Proverbs 13:16.

Second, this will pass…again, God says to us…Dear friends, don’t be surprised or shocked that you are going through testing that is like walking through fire – 1 Peter 4:12

Third, focus on what’s unchanging not what is changing…Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever – Hebrews 13:8

Fourth, God will go through it with you…When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze – Isaiah 43:2

Fifth, this is not the end of the story…In times of trouble, God is with us, and when we are knocked down, we get up again…because we know that God raised the Lord Jesus to life – 2 Corinthians 4:8, 14

Sixth, this has not surprised God…He has a plan … all the powers of hell will not conquer (the church) – Matthew 16:18 — know the importance of the season you’re in – Proverbs 10:5a

A little something to think about … be blessed and be assured!
