A Church with a Heart for our Community

February 6th Thursday

Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a lovely winter’s day in the Kingdom – cool temperature, a little snow, and a gentle breeze! Yes, even this day is a day created and designed for us – full of possibilities and challenges and opportunities, so that we need to begin thanking Him and singing praises to Him. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to shelter you under His purpose and guard you within the embrace of His arms,,,may His Spirit fill you!

This morning I had the privilege to gather with eleven other pastors from our city for morning prayers and coffee/conversation. It was an interesting time as there were ten different congregations represented, well actually more than that , but that would take some explaining. We, of course, prayed together and worshipped with music and put faces with names that we had heard. Then most stayed for coffee and interaction and catching-up.

In the gathering their was good diversity in that two of the newest congregations were represented, a brand new pastor was there, another new member of a local ministry team, and a rather freshly-filled pastor…it was great. This was the first time in at least fifteen years that such a gathering took place…just a simple prayer time with the awareness that we need each other. At this time in our city there is an accepted understanding that God is up-to-something and that there has been a spiritual stirring taking place around our community…and not just in the expected places and congregations.

I want to share Scriptural imperative: Pray passionately in the Spirit, as you constantly intercede with every form of prayer at all times. Pray the blessings of God upon all his believers. And pray also that God’s revelation would be released [through those] who preach the wonderful mystery of the hope-filled gospel. – Ephesians 6:18b-19  TPT. Remember this is a season of ‘double-blessings’ and ‘crazy increase’ for the church…and it is happening in our community! Prayers are being answered! There is an outpouring of grace taking place!

Just a little something to ponder…be blessed!
