Greetings to you in the wonder-filled name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Wow! the last Friday of October…and a new month begins in one week…it seems like a good time to remind ourselves of making the most of each day that we get. I trust that you had a very good week and experienced lots of divine appointments and received many blessings. I pray that you are excited about the weekend – maybe a few chores but time for family, friends, and yourself…and time to gather with your Christian brothers and sisters to worship. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to anoint you with healing, hope, and purpose…may He bless your family and friends through you.
As I was doing my devotional reading today, I came across a challenging quote: God will allow us to carry as much of His presence as we’re willing to jealously guard. It has never crossed our minds how much is available to us now…ministry should flow out of the relationship with the person who lives in us for our sake, but rests upon us for the sake of others. – Bill Johnson, The Resting Place.
These words are significant in light of the seventh prophetic proclamation: this new season is a time for revelatory teaching on power and authority…the Holy Spirit will reveal the difference between ‘power’ and ‘authority’ and the necessity of both. The theme of a believer’s ‘authority’ in Christ Jesus will be revisited. As I understand it – ‘authority’ comes with the commission – Matthew 28:18-20 – The Great Commission. Jesus said that He had been given all authority of the universe and then He said that He was giving it to us to act on His behalf.
However, “power’ comes through encounter with the presence of Holy Spirit. Encounter with Holy Spirit introduces us to His nature that not only comes to us and fills us but longs to ‘rest’ on us. It is from this power that breakthroughs come and miracles happen and supernatural things happen. We cannot exercise our authority in Christ to its fullest expression until we have an encounter with Holy Spirit and get connected to the power-source.
Just a little something to ponder – be blessed!
