A Church with a Heart for our Community

2018 January 18th Thursday

Greetings to you on this winter’s morning! I trust all is well in your corner of the Kingdom. This has been an interesting week – two new songs have come my way…and I really like new songs!

The first song that came along is very appropriate for the start of a new year – it has power and energy! The song is titled – “Resurrection Power” and was written by Chris Tomlin. The words of the chorus proclaim: Now I have resurrection power-Living on the inside-Jesus, You have given us freedom-No longer bound by sin and darkness=Living in the light of Your goodness-You have given us freedom. We sang it first at our Monday prayer gathering and it certainly was enjoyed.

The second song was not as energetic and was focused on having persistent hope. The song was titled – “Horizon: and was written for the Prestonwood Choir. There was one phrase that was carried throughout…Oh we keep or eyes on the light that’s on the horizon. I believe it is a reference to Luke 21:28…your redemption’s drawing near.

Two songs – the power that is available to us now and the hope that we have for a better world. Two things we need to be reminded of as we face a new year.

Have a blessed day!
