A Church with a Heart for our Community

September 25th Friday

Greetings to you – blessed and highly-favored child of God, in the wonderful-beautiful-powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a delightful fall morning…and the last Friday of the month and only three months away from Christmas! It seems a little strange that in some ways it is like we are standing still, yet the days are speeding up. I trust that you have had a good week and been blessed in many simple ways. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to: satisfy your hunger – quench your thirst – soothe your troubled thoughts – lift any burdens -put a sparkle in your eyes – and a smile on your face.

Ah! this is Friday…new release day for music and there are a few good albums available…even a Christmas one – which by the way I now have a copy! One of the new albums is by Natalie Grant and is called “No Stranger.” There is a good balance of songs and there is one that I really enjoyed called – In the Presence of the King. One of the lines goes like this…I draw near-I surrender everything-I find myself in the presence of the King.

I suppose what spoke to me in the song highlighted a passage from a devotional reading. In the reading, the author was questioning her prayers and time with God, even doubting her performance…then she makes an important observation: But God says no more! He never looks down upon us, and He doesn’t grade us on our prayers! With God, nothing is wasted–no moment of thanksgiving, no moment of praise. No moment of worship or communication with God is insignificant, not even a simple “Hello,” “Thank you,” or “I love you.”

As I gather my thoughts there is one focus that captures my attention – that each moment that I think is less than my best…if surrendered can take me into an unwasted moment in the presence of The King. Could it be that that is why the enemy wants to accuse me and discourage me…he doesn’t want me to be in the presence of the King?

Something to ponder…have a blessed weekend!
