Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Praise God for His breakthrough power activated in the name of Jesus Christ! Oh! what a beautiful fall morning in the Kingdom – most definitely a “given day” to encourage us and give us hope! I trust that you had a weekend and Monday of adventures and surprises and blessings…and you filling your “thank you list” in preparation for Thanksgiving Sunday.Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release an extra measure of health, courage, excitement, and opportunities into your life.
As we are in the season of harvest and giving thanks and preparing for changes, I find myself being drawn to stories-music-devotionals-ideas-recipes etc. that cause reflection and thought…maybe even pondering. In the church we are creating our ‘doors of thanksgiving and praise’ …upon which we will post our list of ten things we are thankful for, so that when we come for worship gatherings we will be walking into the sanctuary surrounded by praise and thanksgiving. It is always interesting to see how much God has blessed people and how are they have been of His goodness to them. I always feel empowered when I am part of this very simple ritual.
This morning as I read my devotions God through the writer challenged me with an insight – “God never performs His greatest miracles or gives His best blessings in our yesterdays.” All that He has done and accomplished and released in the past are truly amazing, but we haven’t seen anything yet. We must not sit back and put our feet up while drinking a cup of coffee…and think that’s it. We must not let life become dull. We need to keep on ‘keeping on’ – God can, and I believe does, say to us…”Hang on! the road might get a little bumpy but there is a great rest stop just ahead…and when we get to the next point in our adventure you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Oh! by the way after a brief rest, the journey will continue!” We will be singing – “We’ve come this far by faith!” So when your making your ‘thank you list’ look for all the new blessings He has given you in the last year…no fair copying last year’s list.
Just a little something to consider…have a great day!
