Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! I trust you had a good weekend and Monday…enjoying all of God’s blessings as you followed hard after Him. How is your “Thanksgiving List” doing? Have you been surprised with insights and revelations? I will be praying for you today, asking God to walk alongside of you and release energy, refreshment, and vision.
Last week I mentioned that we were in a “transition” time and since then God has been affirming that idea through the testimony of individuals, through circumstances, through devotional readings, and through his Word. I am beginning to think He takes great delight in doing and saying things to see if you are paying attention…and I believe He smiles when we do see the “breadcrumbs” He leaves for us to follow. Let me remind you that transition means “change” – accepting it, adapting, learning, and grabbing hold of the best parts of it. Let me share some insights that God gave to me.
“Every stage of of life through which we pass has something peculiar to itself in possibility and achievement. Youth is not the only stage of possibility; each stage of life is crammed with possibilities of achievement and beauty” Dr. E. Stanley Jones. It would seem that transition and change is positive and productive. This idea revealed a hidden truth in Scripture: And he (the one who delights in God and God’s word) shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season (transitions through each stage of life). Psalm 1:3a AMP. and then you link that verse with: on each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. Revelation 22:2 and then you link that to: To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven Ecclesiastes 3:1. As we grow in our understanding of God, I believe He uses each ‘season of life’ that we transition through to produce the “fruit” – the changes that bring meaning, value, and purpose to our lives and to the lives of others.
This morning God used my beautiful wife to speak to me about the practicality and down-to-earthness of how this process of transition affects us. She was reading a devotion and read to me a verse of Scripture: Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty (snobbish, high-minded, exclusive), but readily adjust [transition] yourself to (people, things) and give yourselves to humble tasks. Never over-estimate yourself or be wise in your own conceits. Romans 12:16 AMP. If you sense that you are in a ‘transition’ time: keep close to God, read his Word, talk to Him, listen to Him, and ponder…to every season there is a purpose and a beauty.
Be blessed!
