Greetings to you in the name of the one who declared to the people that He was, “The Anointed One”… Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! It looks like it is another one of those days that requires a faith declaration – “This is the day….!” Today I will be praying for you, asking Father God to release the peace that is beyond understanding to you with a splash of joy and a sprinkle of grace.
This morning I was listening to the song “Chain Breaker” by Zach Williams and thought of a few people that I know could really use an experiential encounter with that “prison-shaking Saviour.” Some of those people have been dealing with an illness or an addiction or broken heart or ______, for a very long time. So long for some that I sense that they find it difficult to believe it could be a possibility that there will ever be anything different than right now. Some even find it hard to pray about their concerns and needs, finding themselves like the Psalmist, saying: “How long, Lord?” – Psalm 13.
As I was praying for these folk, God reminded that many of the miracles and healings of Jesus happened to people who were…born blind – issue of blood for twelve years – crippled for thirty-eight years – had already died and was buried – a withered hand for many years … . They were at the end of their rope with depleted hope until by coincidence, Jesus came their way. A 17th century English statesman said: When I pray, coincidences happen, and when I don’t pray they don’t happen – Sir William Temple. I wonder if that is why Jesus…One day Jesus taught the apostles to keep praying and never stop or lose hope…Luke 18:1 and then taught the parable of the persistent widow.
I think that many times the physical healings that I have witnessed, and can affirm, were only slightly more miraculous than the coincidences that surrounded them. So I am choosing to pray for my friends today and say – “God, how about a few coincidences today?”
Something to ponder – enjoy God’s presence!
