A Church with a Heart for our Community

October 30th Wednesday

Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful autumn morning in the Kingdom! I think it is obvious that you were on His ‘wake-up call list’…and that is worth a thank-you God! and to that reality comes an awareness that He has a purpose for you to fulfil, a mission to accomplish for His glory, and a reason to rejoice,,,and again I say, “Rejoice!” Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release healing to your body, mind, and soul…and may He embellish your day with divine moments.

Last night I heard on the television that this weekend is the ‘beginning’…the beginning of holiday movie season! This year I have a new appreciation for these movies – I think God has been messing with my mind a bit! Typically I am a little cynical about these rather predictable presentations but I am beginning to understand and be aware of “aha moments” and divine insights. In fact, last night we were watching a ‘chick-flick’ and in the midst of it God showed me something I had not thought of and it wasn’t until doing my morning readings that I got the message.

It seems that in almost every one of these movies there is a particular moment that initiates a dramatic change in the lives of the central characters, who unknown to them are going to be captivated by a curious ‘something’. This usually happens when one person beholds the other with eye contact or face recognition…of course the background music changes and you know ‘something’ just took place.

In today’s scripture reading were these words: Here’s the one thing I crave from God, the one thing I seek above all else: I want the privilege of living every moment in his house, finding the sweet loveliness of his face, filled with awe, delighting in his glory and grace. I want to live my life so close to him that he takes pleasure in my every prayer. — Lord, when you said to me, “Seek my face,” my inner being responded, “I’m seeking your face with all my heart.” – Psalm 27:4, 8 TPT. As I read those words I remembered when I first caught a look at God looking at me…when our eyes met, so to speak, and something happened!

Isn’t it interesting what God can do in the middle of a holiday movie or a chick-flick? Maybe God uses such moments to catch our attention. Maybe that is why these movies appeal to us…eventually. Maybe God is ‘showing-off’ through divine creativity in the minds of  unsuspecting writers and directors and actors.

Something to think about! – Have a blessed day! and keep your eyes open – you never know who, or when, you’ll see God looking at you!
