A Church with a Heart for our Community

October 1th Thursday

Greetings to you – in the wonderful, beautiful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour!  What a delightful morning to usher in the first day of a new month…and I believe that something good is going to come your way today! Are you going to do the daily assignment and select at least six reasons to praise God…or is it the top six reasons? If so, have you got one or two things on your list already? Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to meet you at your point of need – to assure you that you have ‘His ear’ – to quiet your heart and slow down your racing thoughts – to show you His glory!

God has been speaking to me about “prayer” and He has been using a few “one-liners” from my reading and it only seems right to share with you. Let me begin with this word of testimony: “many times I have knelt in prayer a broken person, not knowing where to turn, and God has dropped a word or a thought into my heart that has caused me to rise spiritually reinforced, renewed and encouraged.”

How about this observation: …when someone in a small boat throws out a boat-hook to grab the shore, does that person pull the shore to the boat or the boat to the shoe? Prayer does not pull God to us but us to God.

Answers to our prayers are not necessarily dramatic. A quiet thought dropped into the mind by God is as deserving of praise as if the heavens opened and God spoke from beyond the clouds.

As you face the day ahead, do not consider what your circumstances will do to you; ask, rather, what you will do to the circumstances through prayer.

I will come and shower my blessings on you. – Hosea 10:12  –  I don’t spend my time chasing blessings. I chase God, and the blessings chase me. – Proverbs 13:21

Father, the shouts of the enemy are silenced in your presence. You are holy and unstoppable. … The Lord is in his holy temple, let all the earth be silent. – Habakkuk 2:20

Now you can ‘ponder’ with me…have a blessed day!
