A Church with a Heart for our Community

October 12th Tuesday

Greetings to you…light of the world and salt of the earth…in the beautiful, empowering, and transforming name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a lovely fall morning in the Kingdom – this is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice, being glad in the Lord! I trust that you had a good Thanksgiving weekend and took opportunity to “count your blessings”!  I will be praying for you today, asking Father to surround you with health and strength and a joy-filled heart…may He meet your specific needs and concerns with grace and imagination…may He guide and guard your steps.

As I reflect on this Thanksgiving…there is so much to be thankful for! On Friday…new music day – I got a new CD called “Morningtide” by a Celtic Music group. It included many of my favorite hymns with new arrangements using traditional Celtic musical instruments…including “bagpipes” – it was listened to and enjoyed several times. Then on Friday night and Saturday morning I got to be one of the “girls” and share an online Joyce Meyer conference…great music and a variety of teachers.

Then there was Sunday morning and the gathering of our church family…little did I realize that I would be blessed by my church family on Pastor Appreciation Sunday – a gift, many notes, and a special prayer for my wife and I. I already know how special our church family is. but this recognition was beautiful. The Spirit of God seemed to hover over us as worshipped Him. Sunday afternoon and evening we shared family time and a lovely meal as a family.

Now, let me tell you about Monday prayer time…yes, even on a holiday Monday! Although our group was smaller, God honored His promise that even if it is only a handful that He would be present…and He was! There were many heartfelt and urgent prayers prayed…so I am expecting some interesting answers.

This Thanksgiving, I had a sense that God stood firm on another one of His promises – So then, surrender to God. Stand up to the devil and resist him and he will turn and run away from you. Move your heart closer and closer to God, and He will come even closer to you. – James 4:7,8a TPT.

Just a few things to ponder…count your blessings!
