Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a beautiful morning to continue on from our Thanksgiving weekend…and what a delight to be able to declare that “this is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!” I trust that you had a good weekend with family and friends and dinner tables and time for a walk or a drives and time to reflect on how blessed you are…”Thank You! Lord” Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to walk close beside you…to release His healing touch…to infuse you with supernatural spiritual energy…to respond to your heart’s cry.
This morning I have been reminded of two choruses we liked to sing as favorites on a Sunday night . They both say the same thing but with a different tempo. The first one was – “He’s able, He’s able, I know He’s able – I know my Lord is able to carry me through” and it was a little lively depending on the musician(s). The second one was – “He’s able, more than able to accomplish what concern’s me today” and it was a little slower and reflective…it made you think.
I was reminded that those old choruses were inspired by God’s Word and that when we sang them slow or lively, we were in fact teaching each other and ourselves a great Biblical theme…the “ables” of God. Here is a sampling: God is able to make all grace abound toward you – 2 Corinthians 9:8 ; He is able to keep what I have committed to Him [all that I have placed in His hands] until That Day – 2 Timothy 1:12 ; He is able to save completely those who come to him – Hebrews 7:25 ; He is able to subdue all things to Himself – Philippians 3:21 ; He is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you spotless before the presence of His glory – Jude 24.
I am reminded of one more verse we sometimes sing…”There is nothing my God cannot do…There’s no mountain that He cannot move…There’s no prison that He can’t break through…There’s no power like the power of Jesus!” Some days–I simply need to be reminded that “He able, more than able-To handle anything that comes my way!”
