A Church with a Heart for our Community

November 5th Thursday

Greetings to you in the wonderful, beautiful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Another beautiful autumn day in the Kingdom…and another fresh opportunity to be grateful that the Lord made this day for us and He enjoys how we rejoice and express gladness in it! I trust that you are having a good week and that you are feeling God’s delight in who you are. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to respond to the cry of your heart…and to touch your life with His grace and mercy…and to touch your body with healing and comfort.

I have another reason to pray that God would accomplish His purpose through the trials and troubles that we face. In a Scripture passage, the Apostle Paul writes a repetitive phrase…“so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body” – 2 Corinthians 4:10, 11 NIV or “which makes Jesus’ life all the more evident in us” – 2 Corinthians 4:11 The Message or “so that life of Jesus be revealed through our humanity” – 2 Corinthians 4:10,11 The Passion.

Ponder those words for a moment…the life of Jesus is put on display when people watch how we respond to life’s challenging moments and seasons. It would seem that in our suffering and troubles and pain and tears…we are proclaiming in very observable ways that Jesus Christ makes a difference. I know that one or two of you have commented about a friend or family member who expresses no Christian faith – ” I don’t know how they can do that without Jesus.”

You and I get to show them the difference faith in a Risen Saviour, Jesus Christ, makes in the difficult times of life. I think of a chorus we sing that says…Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me! or what about…Christ is the answer to my every need!

May the reality of Jesus Christ be put on display…not in how blessed we are but in how well “kept” we are … just a little something to think about  … be blessed!
