Greetings to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! On this cool and grey November morning I would say to you: This is the day that the Lord has made for us, so let us rejoice and be glad in it! I trust that all is well in your world today and that God is making himself known to you in ways that you can understand and respond to. Today I will be praying for you and your family, asking Father to release healing, sustaining grace, and tender mercy to you…may He supply all your needs in creative ways.
Yesterday was our Monday noon-hour prayer gathering and it was, as we have come to expect, quite different. I would say that the majority of our time was spent in silence. It was a unique time in that it was very comfortable, as if God was simply affirming us and filling us and empowering us. Usually at noon hour there is a good deal of street and sidewalk noise but not yesterday, all was quiet around us. I believe it was a divine moment in time. We had our regular thirty minutes or so of worship music. We used two specific songs to pray toward some very specific concerns in our community…’In Jesus’ Name’ and ‘I Speak The Name of Jesus’ – both powerful prayer songs.
As this was our first prayer gathering of Advent…a portion of Scripture was read to remind us that we are not waiting for baby Jesus but King Jesus: “Be careful that you never allow your hearts to grow cold. Be careful that you are not caught off guard, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and the worries of this life, and that day will come upon you suddenly like a trap. Don’t let me come and find you drunk or living carelessly like everyone else. For that day will come as a shocking surprise to all. Keep a constant watch over your soul, and pray for the courage and grace to prevail over these things that are destined to occur and that you will stand before the presence of the Son of Man with a clear conscience.” Luke 21:34-36 TPT.
Sometimes, God likes to catch us off-guard and change the agenda to suit His purpose and plan. I can only welcome His interruption and follow His lead.
Be blessed!
