Every morning lean thine arm awhile…Upon the window sill of heaven…And gaze upon thy God;…Then with the vision in thy heart…Turn strong to meet the day – author unknown .
Lord, just singing about You makes me strong! So I’ll keep shouting for joy to Jacob’s God, my Protector! – Psalm 81:1 TPT
Greetings to you this morning in name of the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful morning in the Kingdom – and I trust that you are excited to experience what God wants to release to you. I have it on good authority that He has new mercies – expressions of love – in store for you. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to disclose His presence to you in tangible ways.
This morning begins the “10 Day Global Prayer” journey. The focus for the day is on – Pursuing the Kingdom of Christ – and in particular for His followers to experience a refurbishing of love, obedience, and witnessing. The focus verse is Acts 1:3-4 … waiting for what the Father had promised. I suppose that we need to ask ourselves a question or two: do I simply have an awareness of Holy Spirit power or have I been apprehended by that power? how much of that power do I possess and use? how much of that power has me? do I want to make some adjustments in my relationship to Holy Spirit?
I have been reminded very recently of a truth that I was taught: God does not hide things from me – He hides things for me! Perhaps that is why “hunger and thirst” are words used in the Bible to describe our spiritual life. God wants us to seek and find new insights and understanding of who He is and what He can do. I have to be ‘hungry and thirsty’…and the good thing is that He promised if I approached Him that way, I would be rewarded.
I have been listening to the live stream of the National Day of Prayer from Washington and I keep hearing the expressions of spiritual hunger and thirst as it relates to a nation. Interesting that there are those who understand that there is a deep need within the heart of a nation and they are not afraid or ashamed to admit it. I am quite sure that in 2016 there is great need for a spiritual awakening or reawakening in our nation…in our world. So once again we join with believers around the world asking God for the transforming power of the Holy Spirit to invade our lives, our churches, our cities, and our country.
Have a great day – be blessed!
