Greetings to you in the One who has ‘the name that is above every name’, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Another delightful, although ‘damp’, morning in the Kingdom – we are so blessed that this rain is nourishing the grass-trees-shrubs-dandelions that are starting to make their way to a new season. Just like this aspect of creation, you and I need the life-giving qualities of Holy Spirit rain to encourage growth and strength…so let it rain! Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release a custom-tailored miracle into your life that will make you step back and say…”Wow!”
As I have been sharing a few thoughts about faith let me remind you of the importance of telling someone your story of faith. Now depending on the person, the circumstances, the timing, and such – your story may be the as yet uncompleted story that began way back and is continuing or it maybe chapter 37 – when whatever significant event took place. Remember that your story of faith is personal and it is important. Remember that there is a time to speak and a time to keep quiet. Remember there is a person who will value your words and one who treat them as nothing. However we must always be ready to share the reason for our faith…and sometimes when we don’t even expect it to happen.
I believe that the sharing of our faith story activates the need to have another experience of faith-building – to grow spiritually. This principle is highlighted by Anne Graham Lotz: “Faith is a ‘choice’ that becomes a lifestyle of trusting God…Like a spiritual muscle, faith grows strong through the exercise of choice after choice after choice.” Anne Graham Lotz, ‘The Daniel Key’. It would seem therefore that our ‘faith story’ is simply relating how or when or why we made a choice to trust God and what He did with our choice, Our faith story then is not a story about us…it is a story about God.
Why is it so important to tell our faith story? Let me give you words from a song: You can tell out the sweet story, you,yes you – Somebody’s life will be brighter – Somebody’s care will be lighter – You can tell out the sweet story. you, yes, you … Sidney Edward Cox. Sharing our faith story is a ‘two-edged sword’ approach…it ministers to the listener and affirms the reality in the speaker. Why don’t you make a choice to tell someone what happened when you made a choice to trust God.
Have a day of blessing!
