Greetings to you in the name of the Lamb of God who carries away the sin of the world, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Wow – a change in weather patterns for the last day of the month but still a beautiful morning in the Kingdom. I trust that you are finished with May’s tasks and are ready to move into a new month. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to …give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak…and that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength…soaring on wings like eagles; running and not growing weary, walking and not fainting.
Last night was our second video Bible study…looking at the “throne of grace” and ‘Life Changing Prayer’. This lesson was focused on ‘receiving mercy’ as we are told from our memory verse: Let us approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:16) So far we have been reminded that there really is a “throne of grace” …it says so right in the Bible. Our challenge is to ‘get’ to it for we have an ‘enemy’ called Satan, who does not want us to get there and he uses every trick in the book to keep us away. As we discovered last night, he even uses ‘good things’ to distract us from best thing.
I believe one of the highlights from our study last night was to re-discover the truth – We don’t have a priest [in Jesus] who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all–all but the sin. Hebrews 4:15 The Message. It was really good to be reminded that nothing we can tell God about our lives–failures, challenges, temptations, doubts, or whatever doesn’t shock Him or surprise Him or catch Him off-guard. He knows , understands, and loves. What an amazing God!
A closing statement from the study – sooner or later God will permit a situation where you have nothing but him and his promises. It is at these times that you can run to the throne of grace. Life Changing Prayer, by Jim Cymbala.
Enjoy the day – be blessed!
