Greetings to you in the name of the One who has the perfect sense of timing, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful Spring morning…ah yes! – this is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad! Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to lead you to – ‘green pastures and quiet waters’ … moments of rest and refreshment where He can restore and nourish you.
Last Sunday I highlighted three points about taking a step of faith…they are based on Mark 5:27-28. First, we need to hear truth about Jesus and the best place to do that is to read the Gospels – ‘faith comes from hearing, and hearing comes from the Word of God’. Maybe even sing a song or two about Jesus – ‘Jesus loves me’ or ‘What a friend I have in Jesus’ or ‘When He cometh’ …so much of what we know about Jesus is referenced in song.
The second point is to think about Jesus and what it would look like or sound like or feel like if He were to walk into your room, your circumstance, your family, your marriage, your employment situation, or your life. What could He do, how would He help you, what would He change, or how would He affect you?
Then, the third point is to act – to reach out, to pray, to speak words of surrender, to bow your head, to go to Him, to let go of stuff that’s been holding you back or down or in one place. Faith really isn’t faith until you do something with it. Faith is like — well, you know the truth about a light bulb, you read about it and you have thought about what your darkness would be like if light came along — turning the switch on. One of the most powerful moments in our relationship with God is when we move beyond fear and doubt and guilt to ‘act’.
May God bless you today!
