Greetings to you…loved, forgiven, favored, listened to…in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a lovely…rainy, windy, cool…day in the Kingdom! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. There are hidden blessings for us in this day and there is a purpose to fulfill that will add to our joy. I trust that you have had a good week and have experienced His presence. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release shalom-peace and healing and perseverance and specific insight according to your need.
I had been reading one of our favorite promises and was a little puzzled. We read that God has plan for us…a plan to bless us and prosper us and to give us a hope – Jeremiah 29:11 … but I also watched the news – covid19, cancer, racism, violence, poverty, addiction, broken trust, and so much more. Then I remember that it also says…all things work together for good – Romans 8:28 … but I heard another news report and read the newspaper. However, there was another verse to read – for the revelation [the promise] awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. Habakkuk 2:3. Then, there was another verse – All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance… Hebrews 11:13.
It seems like I have come face to face with one of my biggest challenges – God’s timing! Whenever I am in a hurry, He isn’t and whenever He’s ready, I’m not. Now I know that I am not the only one who faces this challenge and I know that I am not the only one who knows the ultimate response. When God doesn’t seem to make sense and when I think His timing is off a little…His advice is – Be still and know that I am God ( and therefore let me be God) . Psalm 46:10. He makes a promise – never fear I am always near. Isaiah 41:10. The Apostle Paul says that God – is not far from each one of us. Acts 17:26. My friend, James, says – draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8.
So, on this rainy Friday I must come to the understanding that God is always near and He is always reachable with power and authority and with presence and grace. Therefore, everything I need to know in the middle of things that are beyond my control and my understanding – He will provide the peace, the hope, and the courage to respond to.
Something to think about…be blessed
