A Church with a Heart for our Community

May 22nd Tuesday

Greeting to you in the name of the One who loved us before we even knew it, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! This is one of those days when we must declare…“This is the day” that the Lord has made for us ! I trust that you had a great weekend and Monday – that you are recalling all that made the last two or three days so memorable and blessed. Now are you ready for the week ahead of you? In faith whisper a prayer to God and tell Him you are reporting for duty and then “listen” for His response. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to use you for His glory. You, yes, you! Imagine you have the power to affect lives around you – to lift burdens, to bring hope, to encourage,, to bring ‘healing’, and to release mercy-grace.

Wow – Pentecost 2018 is over and yesterday, according to tradition, begins the second “ordinary time” period which will last until Saturday December 1st. Ordinary Time is simply a period of time when there are not any special events. However the Easter to Advent ‘ordinary time’ is the opportunity to do one or six things…and traditionally this is when the reality of who God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in the life of a person of faith is nurtured.

Let me give you six ‘ordinary time’ activities: 1] work on creating a deeper prayer life 2] begin a gratitude journal 3] put your faith into action 4] read – the Bible or devotionals or biographies 5] participate more faithfully in the life of the church 6] focus on God’s abundance and celebrate His daily presence.

Pentecost, which marks the end of Easter, may be over but it is not finished with us yet. This is the time when the Holy Spirit’s power begins to “leak” into all aspects of life of faith. This “Ordinary Time” is also known as “Trinitytide” as all of who God is is available to us.

Blessings on you this day!
