Greetings to you…the sheep of His pasture…in the name of Jesus Christ – The Good Shepherd and THE Risen Savior! What a beautiful Spring morning in the Kingdom and what a delight to declare that “this is the day that the Lord has made – we will rejoice and be glad in it!” I trust that you had a good weekend to finish the week and a good Monday to kickstart a new week. This morning I will be praying for you, asking Father to release a fresh touch of the Spirit on your life that will bring “abundant grace, mercy, and total well-being” to you…may you experience His presence lifting your head and your heart!
Yesterday was our Monday noon-hour prayer gathering and we had a “full house”…within the limits! It is humbling to think that we have been gathering like this for fifteen years…praying for our city, our community family of faith, our people of leadership, specific requests, and whatever God downloads into an intercessor’s heart/spirit.
The last year has been fraught with limited opportunities to gather in person because of emergency orders…and the vitality of the church has been affected. Yesterday in preparing to guide our prayer time God directed me to a passage of Scripture…and I want to give it to you today. The passage is Ezekiel 37:1-14 and carries the caption – “The Valley of Dry Bones.”
“Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel (your city-community-county). They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and are hope is gone..’…” – and God responds. Ezekiel 37;12 NIV. The message of the passage fueled our prayer time and was so timely since this coming Sunday is Pentecost and we will be focusing on the Holy Spirit and the creation of the “church.” There is a line in one of our Pentecost songs that says…”We want another Pentecost” and perhaps it carries even more meaning this year.
The church – the bride of Christ – needs to experience a ‘rebirth’ , a resurgence of hope. So, we prayed that God would give the church…not the building but the people a hunger and thirst for a new experience, a supernatural encounter with the One who breathes life into “dry bones.” The promise that comes in Ezekiel 37 says, “...I will put my Spirit in you and you will live…then you will know that I the LORD have spoken. and I have done it. declares the Lord.”
Something to think about…may God bless you!
