A Church with a Heart for our Community

May 13th Wednesday

Greetings to you in the beautiful, powerful, and wonderful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a lovely day in the neighbourhood—and bright sunshine in the Kingdom to inspire us…spirit-soul-body and warm our hearts. Some days it is easier the give thanks for the day that the Lord has made and rejoicing just seems to overflow…so let it happen. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to be the lifter of your head and your hiding place and your strong, mighty tower and your Balm of Gilead!

Here we are – sixty plus days of lock-down and we are told there are more days ahead…it gets discouraging. Yet I have heard that God is still answering prayers…and in amazing ways. This morning I was drawn to a portion of Scripture where, as the story unfolds, things are not going too well…though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls…Habakkuk 3:17 NIV – can you identify with those conditions…no visitors in my home, no church services, no happy people around, no place to go and nothing to do.

However, we continue on with the conversation…yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Saviour. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights… Habakkuk 3:18-19 NIV – can you hear the faith declaration…God will help me walk through this and assist me in standing on a firm foundation and experiencing extraordinary strength as I praise Him.

This is more than having positive thoughts…it is speaking hope-filled words: this is going to be a good day-things may not be what I expected, but today is a new day! I am on God’s side and things are going to change. Something good is going to happen to me-for me-in me. God is in charge of the battle and He has never lost one yet. Yes! good things are coming my way! I will stand firm in who I know God to be..

Why not try it…simply say – “Something good is going to happen to me today! I am on the side that has already won! — may God bless you!
