Greetings to you…loved, forgiven, liberated, and at peace through the name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! Another beautiful morning in the Kingdom and another opportunity to say “thank you” to God for this day that He made–and to rejoice and be glad in it! I am so glad that in this rapidly changing world of ours that the faithfulness of God can be relied on again and again. This morning I will be praying for you, asking Father to hide you in the cleft of the rock and cover you there with His hand…may you find that quiet place to rest, near to the heart of God…may He reveal Himself to you in ways that you will understand and respond to.
Sweet hour of prayer, sweet hour of prayer that calls me from a world of care…What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer…I am praying blessed Savior to be more and more like Thee…I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord…He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater…or whatever song or chorus or verse that you sing to lead you into God’s presence. I am so thankful for the God-inspired words and music that bring us to a place and time of prayer. What is the music and/or words that draw you to God and encourage your prayer time?
This morning as I was pondering these thoughts I read some insightful and challenging words…Prayer is abandoning my reliance upon me and running toward the rest that can be found only when I rely on the power of God…Paul David Tripp. Have you ever wondered why people…maybe even you and I don’t always move to prayer as a first response? Could it be that we think we can handle things on our own and don’t want to admit we cannot. Prayer means letting go of our independence – to express dependency. Prayer means admitting weakness and our incapability of being self-sufficient. Prayer means that we are not the center of our lives and that there are better plans. Prayer means that I have needs that I cannot meet on my own, The avoiding of prayer is because asking for help is not natural for us.
This morning it is the words of Fanny Crosby that touch my heart…I am praying to be humbled-By the power of grace divine-To be clothed upon with meekness-And to have no will but thine…Thou who knowest all my weakness-Thou who knowest all my care-While I plead each precious promise-Hear, O hear and answer prayer. I am learning to be a “first-responder” more and more these days!
Something to ponder…have a blessed day!
