Greetings to you in the powerful, beautiful and wonderful name Of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a privilege to wake-up this morning and know God is still in charge and worthy of our praise! I trust that you had a good weekend and are enjoying good health -a happy heart – a peaceful spirit! This morning I am praying for you, asking Father to slip into your life in way that will release: inner strength and an awareness of His presence and an encouraging word and a joy that is beyond explanation.
Last night I received an email from a ministry that reaches out to people needing healing through the ministry of music and prayer. It is called “Here Be Lions” and is based in Tennessee. The reason for the email was the introduction of a new song written by one of the team and I was able to hear it . The song is entitled – “Peace Over You” and was written to minister to an individual struggling with a health issue.
The song reminded me of an encounter the disciples had with Jesus in John 20:19-23. Twice in those verses Jesus speaks “peace” to these disciples who were struggling with confusion and frightened and fearful. Jesus says that as they have experienced peace, they are to give it to other people…and that is what the words of the song suggest.
In fact, here are the words of a chorus: So I speak peace, peace come into this room-I speak peace, peace over you- I speak life, life to come into this room-I speak life, life over you. There is a second chorus in the song that says: So I speak peace, peace come into this room-I speak hope, hope over you-I speak joy, joy come into the room-I speak joy, joy over you.
I thought that as part of my prayer for family and friends that I might start praying very specifically – peace over you, life over you, hope over you, and joy over you.If I remember rightly, Jesus spoke the word “peace” many times…in the midst of storms, in the face of fears, and in teaching about things yet to come. Further, part of the daily blessing from the Old Testament includes – peace.
So, as I close let me give you these words: The LORD bless you and keep you. The LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. – Numbers 6:24-26.
Have a blessed day…and pass the blessing along!
