On the day I was at my weakest, my enemies attacked–but the Lord held me tight and true. Surprised by His love, He led me forth, breaking open the way into a beautiful broad place! I’m rescued! All because He delights in me! Psalm 18:18-19 TPT. Greetings in the name of Heaven’s Champion, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a beautiful morning after the stormy night, as the sunlight bounces off icy tree branches and melts away the ice that had imprisoned car doors and windows. Just a reminder…This is the day that the Lord has made! I am praying for you today, asking Father to release your testimony into the hearts and minds of the people you will come into contact with.
This morning I am listening to selections from a recently released CD – Here As In Heaven by Elevation Worship and one song in particular – “Evidence” – caught my attention because it has a spoken word part that proclaims what I believe is a part of every worship gathering. The speaker states that there is experience taking place for those individuals who are open to it – “It is time to move – to move from darkness to light – to move from defeat to victory – to move from brokenness to wholeness – to move from conflict to peace – to move from distance from God to nearness…” I have come to understand that when we gather with God’s family to worship, as we consider the evidence of who HE is, something-Someone- touches our inner being, and we want to respond…MOVE. I happen to believe that the Someone who touches our inner being is Jesus Christ. I believe that – Jesus Christ Christ transforms everything He touches!
I was listening to someone singing – “What a friend we have in Jesus” – and I let my thoughts wander to a definition for ‘friend’ that I came across: a friend is someone you want to hang around with, spend time with. Perhaps when we sing – “What a friend we have in Jesus” or “I am a friend of God” – what is being expressed is that we enjoy ‘hanging out with God’ or we believe that God enjoys ‘hanging out with us’. Now get ready for the connecting thought…the reason we enjoy hanging out with God is that He “touches” us in a way that “transforms” us. I know this principle is true for many people. I have heard people say…“I really didn’t want to come for worship today…but something happened and I am leaving different than I came in.” I wonder if when we decide to avoid worship times or refuse to participate when we are there…are we avoiding God’s desire to have a ‘friendship’ with us, are we avoiding being ‘transformed’.
Just a little something to ponder on the first Wednesday of March…I pray the blessing of grace and peace upon you. “Grace” to oil the wheels of life and “Peace” to make the ride more pleasant.
