A Church with a Heart for our Community

March 19th Thursday

Greetings to you in the beautiful, wonderful, powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a blessed day in the kingdom – and “Yes!” it was made for us by our God…and “Yes!” it is necessary to deliberately chose to ‘rejoice and be glad in it’. Isn’t it exciting …winter is almost over and spring is a-coming, and with it a new season with the understanding that for everything there is a season and a purpose for all things under the sun. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to keep you under the shadow of the Almighty and to hide you in the strength of God Most High!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of being in contact with almost everyone in our church family…and it was very encouraging. There are some challenges because of the self-containment but I could sense that faith in God was giving a strength and coping ability that many didn’t know they had. I was reminded of the words: Life without any kind of suffering would be no life at all; it would be a form of death. Life — the life of the spirit like the life of the body — depends in some mysterious way upon the struggle… – Douglas John Hall. I am coming to understand more than ever that God is in the dilemmas of life. I know that He is in control, He exercises his sovereignty in giving you and I the choice to follow his lead and even participate with him. We do so in our co-operative decision to pray.

For me the exercise of prayer creates one of the most exciting stories we could ever write. It is a story about an adventure that is filled with danger, excitement, and wonders. Can there ever be anything more hopeful than the belief that life could be different and that we can play a role in initiating that change? It begins with a desperate decision to believe that God can and will do more than I can imagine.

Perhaps there is one prerequisite – it is getting in touch with, seeking the presence of the one who is the Author and Finisher – the Beginning and the End of our faith. Today in one of my readings, I came across these words: The Lord desires us to be in tune with what we sense, think, see, and hear because He is often the spark behind it. Pay attention to what goes on inside of you and what you notice in the world around you. It may be the Lord speaking to your heart. – Brian Simmons & Gretchen Rodriguez, The Divine Romance.

In this time of confusion when fear and doubt and despair become the tools of the enemy who sneaks around like a hungry lion seeking an easy meal – seek God’s presence and get close and see what He is doing and join in!

Something to think about — be a blessing and you will be blessed!
