A Church with a Heart for our Community

March 10th Tuesday

Greetings in the name of the “God of Peace”(Hebrews 13:20) and Jesus Christ – THE Crucified and Risen Saviour! What a delightful late winter’s morning in the Kingdom! I trust that you had a good weekend and experienced God’s presence in a variety of ways. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to release healing power on you and bless you with prosperity.

First, I want to share thoughts from a respected leader about ‘peace’, which oddly enough coincides with the name of God for today – “God of Peace”. James MacDonald says that…”peace isn’t related to your environment or circumstances – it is a gift, something that God gives to us – hence the phrase…the peace of God” – “Peace is the calm assurance that what God is doing is the best — becoming like Jesus is the slow process of sanctification — you have to fight for your peace, actively replacing contaminating thoughts with thoughts that come from peace (Philippians 4:8).” Now, I am just going to leave that for you to consider…if anyone wants more about James MacDonald’s teaching, send a request and I will send a ‘link’.

Second, as we were praying yesterday, God brought to remembrance the words of an old prayer chorus: “Spirit of the Living God fall afresh on me – Break me, melt me, mould me. fill me, use me – Spirit of the Living God fall afresh on me!” I was reminded of the manner of Jesus when he handled ‘bread’ during his ministry. He never started with broken pieces, but with wholeness – then he blessed – then he broke – then he gave. However, when he works with us – He takes our wholeness and then breaks and then blesses and then uses, or gives, us. It has happened enough times for me to agree with these words: When God breaks us, he doesn’t do so to break us or our lives apart; rather, he wants to break us open to him and to the needs of others.  Robert Crosby, The One Jesus Loves.

Today, I have the sense that God is ‘breaking’ me (maybe you, too) open, so that he can bless me (us) with the gift of peace. If I follow the process, He is going to give me (us) away – use me – for purposes that I (we) cannot see at this moment. Therefore, I say – Be still, troubled soul, God is in control!

Blessings on your day!
