Greetings to you…beloved of the Father…in the beautiful, wonderful, and powerful name of Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a lovely morning in the Kingdom–what a way to start the day! Yes, we will rejoice and be glad in this day that the Lord has made for us – and we will be on alert – watching for the blessings, new mercies, divine appointments, and surprises. This morning I will be praying for you, asking Father to give you strength for the day and hope for the plans you are making and grace to enable you to meet the demands of the day and love for the people who will come into your life and peace to keep everything in balance.
God sure has a sense of humor – yesterday, after considering using our ears to listen for Him, today He drew my attention to using my eyes to see him. It started last night when we were watching the newest episode of “The Chosen” and how it dealt with Mary Magdalene’s restoration to the band of disciples. What an incredible moment when she confessed before Jesus and heard him say – “Look at me! You are forgiven!”
This morning I was drawn to the first part of the chorus that I referenced yesterday – Open my “eyes” Lord, I want to see Jesus – To reach out and touch him and say that I love him. There are many songs and choruses that deal with intimate moments of worship when we long to see “Jesus” because somehow we understand that that will make a difference in our lives.
One of my top hundred or so Scripture passages is dealt with powerfully in the Passion Translation: We saw him with our very own eyes. We gazed upon him and heard him speak. Our hands actually touched him, the one who was from the beginning, the Living Expression of God. This Life-Giver was made visible and we have seen him. We testify to this truth: the eternal Life-Giver lived face-to-face with the Father and has now dawned upon us. So we proclaim to you what we have seen and heard about this Life-Giver so that we may share and enjoy this life together. 1 John 1:1-3 TPT — Isn’t that a humbling and encouraging testimony?
Can you imagine…just for a moment what it must have been like to “see” Jesus, to look at him and to be seen by him? to lock eyes with the One who sets us free…who forgives…who loves us like no other…who simply makes you comfortable in the presence of the Divine? In these times that we are living in it is so important to hear and see with open hearts and minds, ready to receive the new things that God is doing around us. Perhaps we need to go back to an old favorite…Turn our eyes upon Jesus-Look full in his wonderful face…
Something to ponder…be blessed!
