Greetings to you…created in God’s image…in the name of the One who gives us access to the Throne Room of Heaven, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Savior! What a lovely Spring morning in the Kingdom – and we declare that – “this is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!” What a delightful way to start a new month with thirty days of the “unexpected” ahead of us…although, I can only imagine that it is going to be an adventure! So, this morning I will be praying for you, asking the Father to surround you with: “shalom” – peace that is powered by His presence…enabling grace that gives you strength and energy…mercy that gives a little extra patience with yourself and others…and joy that keeps bubbling up inside you for no particular reason.
Some time ago I got my copy of the Book of Genesis – The Passion Translation. I had been looking forward to “getting into it” but it didn’t grab me, so I put it on the shelf. Then about two weeks ago I got a devotional book – “Firstfruits…365 Days of Blessing from the Book of Genesis.” It uses the Passion Translation in day-sized verses and phrases, and that is what I needed to take “Genesis – TPT” off the shelf. Now it is a devotional treatment of Genesis and not a commentary although it sure has a lot of insight and application.
For the last several days I have been reading Abram-Abraham story and seeing things in a context that I had not noticed before. I guess there are times when you need someone to help you see what you are looking at. Today, the verse and the comments were especially meaningful…and [Abraham] said, “My Lord, if I have found favor in your sight, don’t pass me by. Stay for a while with your servant..” Genesis 18:4 TPT.
What a challenge…to encounter the presence of God, to experience His favor, and to not be in a hurry. Have you ever had those moments when you asked God…”stay for a while with your servant-with me.” He does not have to say anything or even do anything – He simply has to be there. In the radiance of His beauty – there is a holy calm, there is flow of strength to face life sweeping over you, time seems to stand still, and you feel loved like you never thought possible. Can you hear yourself whispering, “stay for a while with your servant” ?
Stay in the moment and be blessed!
