Greetings to you in the name of the One who is “the same – yesterday, today and forever!” , Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! What a day the Lord has made for us…we must give Him praise and thanksgiving! I think this is especially necessary today with all the human engineered events going on in our world. We need to acknowledge and believe that God is in control – though I may not understand or agree. I trust that, personally, you have had a good week and that you have been aware of God’s presence with you…and I pray that you are anticipating an amazing weekend. Today I will be praying for you, asking Father to gather you in to his place of refuge and shelter so that He can anoint your head with oil and prepare a table for you in the midst of life’s enemies.
Today, of course, is the last day of January and it is a Friday…the first month of 2020 is gone. I wonder what adventures are waiting for us in a ‘one day longer’ February. As this is a Friday – it is “new music release day” and there was one new album that I have been waiting for…”Let There Be Wonder” by Matt Redman. I have listening to it and I am looking forward to using some of the songs in a worship gathering. I have already mentioned one song to you called – We Praise You – which was an early release. It is a powerful song with a great message.
And to make this day even better, God sent me a quote on one of my flip-over prayer calendars. It is from a seasoned veteran of the faith, Bob Mumford and it goes like this: Peace with God brings the peace of God. It is a peace that settles our nerves, fills our mind, floods our spirit, and in the midst of the uproar around us, gives us the assurance that everything is all right. God, in his wisdom and incredible sense of timing placed that quote for January 31st right after January 30th’s quote. The quote for January 30 was by Brennan Manning: The secret of the mystery is: God is always greater. No matter how great we think Him to be, His love is always greater. What a great thought to end January…no matter what, God is always greater, so everything is all right!
Have a grand weekend…watch out for the groundhog — and be blessed!
