A Church with a Heart for our Community

January 14th Wednesday

Greetings in the name of the One who walked our road of humanity with such love and grace, Jesus Christ – THE Crucified and Risen Saviour! What a beautiful and chilly winter’s morning…I send you ‘warmest greetings’! I trust that had a great weekend and are enjoying God’s blessings, especially health, safety in your journey, and positive companionship–one day at a time! I will be praying for you today, asking Father to allow you to see and sense His presence in very defining ways.

Two things have come into alignment for me over the last week, beginning with a verse that I believe I shared with you: If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves (and they affect the mobility of others as well); but when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed. Proverbs 29:18  The Message…bracketed portion added. I have been rolling that verse over and over in my mind and wondering what it is that God is trying to communicate to me. Yesterday, He began to clarify things…I attended a leadership gathering and listened to what was happening in other areas of ministry…and things in God’s kingdom are not well. I left the gathering rather disturbed and disquieted in my heart.

Then, this morning God revealed a rather challenging insight: My leaders – pastors, ministers. and elders – have lost sight of me – rather than take time to seek for me and get a glimpse of my glory they are trying to manufacture something to recapture what they lost. In the process they are drawing people away from me – impeding the progress of Kingdom work. Therefore – seek Me, find Me, be touched by My presence…don’t be blind guides leading blind people into dangerous situations. Remember, you are ‘the light of the world’ and as the moon reflects the light of the sun…you are to reflect the glory of my Son – you cannot create an alternate light source. You don’t know where you are going…or where you are leading ‘MY’ church. Look for vision – for Me – see what I am doing and start reflecting it to others.

I had to stop and realize that I, like my fellow leaders, did not have a vision…and I desperately need one. Then God sent a verse of scripture, a prayer: May He (God) grant the dreams of your heart and see your plans through to the end.  Psalm 20:4  The Voice. Today, I and those in leadership around me need to get our ‘dreams’ down on paper…and that is not really that hard since Jesus made this promise: Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you too.  Matthew 6:33 The Voice.

And the next thing that happened…God sent a message through one of His men:  Get ready to be blessed!  Joel Osteen.

Reflect His glory…and be ready!
