Greetings to you in the name of the One who is ‘the Way, the Truth, and the Life’, Jesus Christ – THE Risen Saviour! Another strange February day in the Kingdom…still, it is the day that God has created for us and we will start our praise with that! I trust that you had a great weekend and Monday – with lots of surprises and blessings and opportunities to enjoy friends & family. Today I will be praying for you, asking the Father to release laughter, peace, and hope into your spirit so that you are renewed in your mind.
Listening to some country music the other day – songs about heartaches and brokenness and happiness and all manner of life experiences – I had this little insight. Many of the songs could be classified as ‘blogs’ set to music. In fact, the whole concept of music and song was, to me at least, a form of blogging.
A ‘blog’ is a discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web which consists of discrete, informal diary-style text entries called “posts” that are typically displayed in reverses chronological order. In January 2017 statistics say there were 332.8 million blogs posted…409 million readers and 24.2 billion pages each month.
As I say that I am reminded that in days long ago – the news of events in one village was passed on the next by the minstrel. The minstrel would take items of interest and compose a verse then set it to music and sing the ‘songs’ from one village to another. They were, in my mind, mobile bloggers.
I then thought of the Bible, and in particular the Psalms, realising that these were, in a sense, ‘blog posts’ that God inspired to tell people about his activity and his character and the information they needed to live good lives. Many times in the New Testament the readers were told to read the letter (blog) and then pass it along to the next group of beleivers
As it always seems to do – everything leads back to God … In the beginning God created “BLOGGING”!
